Eat Your Corey Hart Out: TAG Heuer Night Vision Glasses
Written By: Seyth Miersma
Filed Under: All News, Gadgets, Tech April 8th, 2008 3:00 PM
Originally developed for the bleary eyes of drivers in the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans, this set of fancy specs is said to aid in night vision.
The TAG Heuer glasses apparently utilize contrast and color technology to maximize vision in dark conditions, instead of the expensive and bulky heat signature tracking of more sophisticated systems. The golden glasses are built on titanium frames and feature “Reflex-style” flexible temple sections.

Let’s see, so Tag Heuer “utilizes contrast and color technology”. In other words, they make yellow glasses, which indoor shooters and drivers who often encounter fog have been using, let me see… for ever. That is a shocking technology. And for the name TH they will likely charge $400 (that’s their average price today).
Tag Heuer is nothing more than a name for sale.

Motive did a nice piece on these glasses. I believe they basically came to the conclusion that they were extremely overpriced and had very marginal benefits for people not running in 24 hr races.

They look a bit better than my old Ray Ban Driving Series… that I never wear… and that I got for free
If Tag Heuer payed me $ 400 I would consider wearing those…
